The Cohos Trail
Coos County
Page 1 2 3
"The Cohos Trail is the longest single trail venture in New Hampshire's
history, longer than the collective trails used as the Appalachian
Trail.
Once the Sentier Frontalier trail group from Quebec Canada finishes
their trail to meet The Cohos Trail sometime in the next two years or
so, the new international trail system will be nearly 225 miles long and
end at the great astronomical observatory on to of Mount Megantic,
Quebec.
Finally, it is my goal over the next five or ten years to link The Cohos
Trail with the southern White Mountain trails, the Route 11 snowmobile
trail, The Mt. Cardigan trail system, The Ragged Mt-Kearsarge-Sunappee
system, The Monadnock-Sunappee Greenway, the Metacomet and the new
Nantastiquet-Sunappe trail to form a Granite State Trail (for lack of a
name) that will stretch from the Massachusetts border to Canada."
