Mt. Potash Trail
Located in Waterville off the Kangamangus Highway
Total Distance : (from parking area to summit) 2.2 miles
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Climbed August 18, 1996
Weather conditions: Fair/lower 80's (high humidity)
Follow the Kangamangus Highway to the Passaconaway Campground. The parking area for this trail is directly
across from the Campground. From the parking area, follow the trail to the junction of the UNH Trail. Bear right and
follow the sign for Mt. Potash. The trail crosses a brook, strictly on rocks, so depending on the weather conditions
it could be difficult. You will soon come to a logging road. Continue through the woods on a level grade where
the trail is well blazed. At a point where the trail turns sharp right, it ascends steeply to the Southeast Outlook and
moderately across scattered ledges to the summit. A large portion of the trail is step-like with a lot of above ground
tree roots crossing the trail.
