Follow Route 49 East past Waterville Valley. Turn right on Valley Road (sign for Hiking Trails WVAIA), then left on West Branch Road (sign for Livermore Road). About 1.5 miles, the Livermore Road parking area is on the right. Hike down Livermore Road to the Greeley Pond Trail (sign) an old carriage road. This portion of the trail is completely level and serves as an excellent warmup. It then turns right at the Scaur Trail (sign) and crosses Mad River. There is a relatively easy place to cross on a log, but in poor weather conditions or high levels of water this could be difficult. The trail follows through the woods on level grades and then climbs steeply over man made steps. The trail levels off one more time and then climbs steeply again where the path suffers from some washout (tricky footing). It combines with the Kettle Path for the last 0.2 miles to the outlook.
